Invite Friends for a Game Night

Do you need a reason to invite your friends over? We suggest you invite some friends over for a game night! Playing some games allows for a casual reason to spend time socializing and having fun. In this week’s Charlotte Woods Blog, we’ve got some tips to aid you in organizing and following through on hosting a game night in your Charlotte, NC apartment.

Offer Food and Drink

Though people come to game nights for the games, provide a better experience by putting out some snacks. Try to avoid any snacks that leave a residue on your fingers. Keep hand sanitizer and napkins readily available or try other popular snacks, such as pretzels, crackers, M&Ms, and other treats that won’t leave much mess on cards or game pieces. If your guests have specific preferences, you can invite them to bring their favorite snacks.

Communicate

Much like hosting a dinner party or other event, communication is key for a game night. Letting your guests know the details like time and place are crucial for a successful night. Communicate with your friends by creating a group chat, Facebook event, or even a Google sheet with the details. This way, they can sign up for bringing snacks and games or even for letting you know if they’re capable of coming.

Provide Space

When you’ve got friends coming over, you want to make sure that they have enough space to play. Clear your dining room table or the coffee table in your living room so there is enough space for the games you’re going to play. Put out some extra seats, blankets, and cushions for extra comfort.

Hosting a game night is a great way to spend an evening. The goal is to have fun, so pick games that everyone can enjoy! If you have any additional tips for us, let us know of them by leaving a comment!
