Try Something New this Year

Depending on how adventurous you are, you may need some motivation to try something new. The new year is a good opportunity to seize the day and do something you would not have done otherwise. In this week’s edition of the Charlotte Woods Blog, we’ve got a few suggestions of things you should try! If you are an adventurous person and have already done everything on our list, don’t fret, as there are many other options available.

Bungee Jumping

Imagine the most thrilling experience of your life. If it isn’t bungee jumping, it should be. Adrenaline is sure to pump through your veins as you dive, jump, or get pushed off a ledge with a bungee cord attached to your legs. If you’re an adrenaline junkie, this activity is sure to fit your fancy. If not, it’s still a fun activity to try. We suggest going with some friends so you can all psyche each other up! Don’t let 2019 pass without trying something adventurous!

Learn Languages

Though not as exhilarating as bungee jumping, learning a language should definitely be on the list of things you should be doing in 2019. Not only will you learn a language and be able to communicate with other speakers, but you’ll also be continuing your education — which is important for your mental health. Pick a language that you’ve always wanted to learn and find resources that will aid you in your pursuits. There are plenty of apps available, so do your research and find the one that works best for you!

Eat Sushi

If you grew up near any coast, you’re likely to have at least tried sushi. If you haven’t, why not give it a shot? Sushi comes in many forms here in the United States, but we recommend trying the more traditional dishes like nigiri or sashimi. There are many reasons why people dislike sushi — it could be because of the texture and taste — but sushi can be a delicacy for you to enjoy. We admit it: Sushi is an acquired taste, so be prepared to not like it the first time. If you’ve tried it before and didn’t like it, we suggest trying again, as you never know if you’ll end up enjoying it.
